Two Caravans

The short story I have read is about one group of outsiders who are common all over Europe and this group of outsiders are the migrant workers from Poland and Ukraine. They come to the West, just to find jobs and security unavailable at home. In the novel Two Caravans by Marina Lewycka we meet Irina and Andriy from the Ukraine and Tomaz from Poland. They come to Britain to work as strawberry pickers but are looking for better prospects.
Andriy notices a lot of differences between his own country and the UK. That all are well dressed – the shoes, new shoes made of leathers. No carpet slippers, like people wear in the street back home. By reading this, we understand that the people are poor and not as privileged as the rest in the UK.
The polish workers came to London to work as strawberry pickers, through Andriy eyes we can read about how the people in London threat him, and the rest of the polish workers. One example from the text, when Andry stumbles into a young woman walking fast on high heels, who backs away snarling, “Get off me!” by reading this we can ask ourself do we look down on the migrant workers from Poland and Ukraine? And are they only welcome if they do our dirty work?
Well, they are just a much human as much as you and me, therefore they deserve to be treated with respect and not exploited..

Senior project

I have finally figured out what to write about for this English project we have this semester.. I am going to write about black history form the slavery started in the USA until today.
- The changes....
- How it was possible for Americans to vote for a black president, something that seemed unreal, for only a year ago!

My home town ;)

Well, I am going to tell you about my home town Asker aka A-town like we like to call our town. Its not a very large town, there are 53 000 inhabitants in A-town.
Asker is a nice place to live, we even have royalty here, The Prince and the Crown Princess live in our amazing town.
The place is called Skaugum, but unfortunately you cant get a tour. Luckily for us there's a lot of different things to do in A-town, like go to the mall, the a trip to the museum you can even watch a move in our new movie theatre. But If you want to party in the club and you are under the age of 20, I must disappoint you there, because the only clubs in A-town has an age limit of 20 years or more. That is why we under the age of 20, usually go out clubbing in Oslo which is the capital in Norway where the age limit is 18 years old.. One other bad thing about asker is that when it first starts to snow, it snows a lot. Personally I don't like to much snow, but I'll manage! ;)

Take a trip to A-town, and trust me you will not regret it:)

Of course we should not belive everything that the media writes, now a days we have to ask
questions around what is true or false. A lot of newspapers and magazines (without hanging out any particulair newspaper or magazines) write tings just to sell more.

But is this how its supposed to be?? shouldn't we set questions mark ? We are not born yesterday, we know why the media writes things.....
